00;00;00;00 - 00;00;08;29

Ian

From a studio high above the clouds of the Okanagan Valley. This is the cannabis potcast.

00;00;09;01 - 00;00;18;01

Ian

Exploring the world of Canadian cannabis culture. One toke at a time. Dan is your host and Bud tender.

00;00;18;03 - 00;00;38;18

Gary Johnston

Gary Johnston seems like a pretty good time for me to say welcome to the Cannabis potcast. Maybe this is your second time. Third or fourth? Or perhaps it's your very first time in either case. I'm really happy to welcome you to the Cannabis potcast. We're going to spend the next 30 minutes or so talking about a plant I'm absolutely passionate about, and that is cannabis.

00;00;38;20 - 00;01;03;10

Gary Johnston

I suspect you may have a similar belief. Now, before we get too much further, let me remind you this podcast is intended for those of legal consumption age in your jurisdiction and is intended purely for entertainment and perhaps educational purposes. You should always consume your cannabis responsibly in episode 204. Cannabis can heal with support. We'll look at the changes on how we celebrate for 20.

00;01;03;10 - 00;01;32;00

Gary Johnston

Trade barriers for cannabis need to come down. Winnipeg police they're targeting cannabis shoppers. RCMP bust an illicit network. And we talk about my plan for edibles. And on Cultivar Corner brought to you by Up in Smoke. We try hash rosin drops sativa from rosin heads. All of that and more on episode 204 of the Cannabis potcast.

00;01;32;03 - 00;01;54;18

Gary Johnston

And before we get too much further, let me stop and thank you for being a listener of the Cannabis potcast. I'm truly appreciative of the fact that you are here. I also want to thank my patrons. Thank you to those Tony, Rob, Gage, Lloyd, Roger, Justin and Lindy. I'm so appreciative. Thank you so much. And now let's talk about my cannabis plan.

00;01;54;21 - 00;02;01;15

Gary Johnston

So we've had some discussion about doing some edibles and the understanding of.

00;02;01;15 - 00;02;02;24

Ian

Course.

00;02;02;26 - 00;02;34;22

Gary Johnston

That with edibles once it goes through your liver, it, it identifies a change of THC to 11 hydroxy much more potent and much more unpredictable. And that's where I think my problem begins, because I understand the edible dosages starting at five milligrams and then going to ten milligrams. But how they do behave on my system.

00;02;34;25 - 00;02;35;03

Ian

It.

00;02;35;03 - 00;03;08;09

Gary Johnston

Doesn't work that way. Now, I was really happy that to raise the trees, both the cannabis wellness coach sent me a list of what she thinks are some things for me to be to, to pay attention to when we're looking at edibles. So let me give you a sense of where that goes. Gary, I hope this becomes a great opportunity for you to explore different options with cannabis and also bring awareness to different consuming methods that often go under the radar for people who find difficult to dose for the first time.

00;03;08;12 - 00;03;29;25

Gary Johnston

I wondered how long it took for your edible to kick in. I noticed you mentioned you kind of felt it. It wasn't sure and back and forth and how it actually felt. This is normal when edibles first start to activate. It can feel it's not full force yet, but starts to kind of trickle on effect. And it can continue to magnify over a period of time.

00;03;29;27 - 00;04;00;26

Gary Johnston

Generally, edibles take between 1 to 2 hours to activate and can last between 4 to 24 hours depending on the dose. There isn't a direct dose correlation between smoking and eating, as eating cannabis is processed through the liver, hence that hydroxy 11 hydroxy that I referenced earlier. And then through the digestive system. And so the results can be different between people versus inhalation which is direct to the lungs, to the brain, to it, to much more direct method and inhalation deals.

00;04;00;28 - 00;04;22;04

Gary Johnston

Delta nine THC activation is also dependent. When you ate last in your did that and your digestive system is sluggish. Stress and factors like that. Edibles often feel more like a body high versus inhalation, more of a bun and more of a head high. If your inhalation dose is 20mg, you should start. Still, start with lower dose for edibles.

00;04;22;05 - 00;04;48;12

Gary Johnston

As you notice a smaller dose may just be enough. Okay, thank you for that information. Theresa, I truly do appreciate it. And you've covered off a lot of the pieces. Here is where I start to have problems in dealing with the edibles. As we've spoken about before. When it goes through your liver and it it changes from delta nine THC to 11 hydroxy THC.

00;04;48;14 - 00;05;19;02

Gary Johnston

My body ignores it. I don't get I have had very little evaluation. Perhaps we'll well notice in the the one I'm looking at today, the high hash rosin drops that may have had some impact. I'll leave that to your interpretation. But when we have comments about 1 to 2 hours to activate and can last between 4 to 24 hours, depending on the dose.

00;05;19;04 - 00;05;55;22

Gary Johnston

Nothing in my realm has come close to that. And I guess that's still where where I am at. I haven't found my my piece of my my piece of nirvana here. I can't find those dosage that that get me to that level. I continue to play with it. I've got a bunch of edibles. We're going to be trying over a little bit here, and it may or may not work for me, but I find that a lot of it from my perspective is that it just simply doesn't work on my system.

00;05;55;25 - 00;06;02;03

Gary Johnston

I'm not sure what I can do about that, but I'll keep you informed.

00;06;02;05 - 00;06;06;15

Ian

For the cannabis infused studio in the clouds. This is the Cannabis potcast.

00;06;06;18 - 00;06;34;29

Gary Johnston

And we go to Strat Connect. Com for the next story. And this was written by David Brown. Well, April 20 or 4 20 or 420 for 420 is still the popular annual day for cannabis consumers to celebrate the plant and its use. The day isn't the weed version of Saint Patrick's Day that some might assume. Although many retail stores and even brands host 420 themed events, there are still small events and rallies around the country.

00;06;35;02 - 00;06;59;27

Gary Johnston

This does not necessarily translate to an increase in sales for some retailers in Canada. Many consumers aren't even aware it's 420 when they stop in the weeds for an April 20th, says Daniel Nguyen, founder and CEO of Newmont Cannabis, with five stores in Alberta. While the day was once a rallying point for Wrigley's Asian activist, the normality and legalization took away some of the general interest.

00;06;59;29 - 00;07;19;01

Gary Johnston

We don't see as much focus on it anymore, says Nguyen at Nuvo. We try to make it an exciting time and a celebration of cannabis. But where 420 felt more like an act of rebellion now than it's been legalized. We show that culture every single day. So I think the importance is still there, but it's not something that is driving sales.

00;07;19;04 - 00;07;48;25

Gary Johnston

That's not to say there are no old school for 20 event in Canada. B.C. cannabis retailer Mood Cannabis is hosting Mood Fest 25 in Nanaimo on April 20th, with live music, a dab bar, live glassblowing, food and more. In Ontario cannabis culture, Niagara Falls and the Canadian cannabis tourism Lions are joining together to celebrate for 20 as his Ontario cannabis retailer Stoked Cannabis, which is also hosting a Niagara Falls for 20 Expo.

00;07;48;27 - 00;08;14;24

Gary Johnston

Meanwhile, Vancouver's 420 rally, which is taking place since the 1990s, held its last official event in 2019. Although some offshoots have emerged post-Covid, none have had the same level of attendance as the event in its heyday. It's not a protest anymore, says Jen Mcavan, founder of calyx and Trichomes, a cannabis retailer in Kingston, Ontario. We won, so it was for 20 over?

00;08;14;26 - 00;08;34;21

Gary Johnston

No, but it's definitely changed a lot since the days before legalization. There are some parties, but we're not on Young and Dundas Square with our signs anymore. Still, Kavan, who has worked in the cannabis space since long before legalization and serves as the executive director of Normal Canada, says she does still see a bit of an increase in sales.

00;08;34;26 - 00;08;55;10

Gary Johnston

Around late to late April for every year. However, she's not even sure if it's because of 420 or because the weather is getting nicer and more people are out and about. It's surprising, but we actually do see a bump around 420. Still, no matter what, she explains. I don't know if it's just because it coincides with better weather, or because there are aren't even 420 event anymore.

00;08;55;16 - 00;09;25;15

Gary Johnston

But in store sales, people are definitely still coming in and looking for special promotions or contests to enter. Bronies inspire the director and purchase her at Flamingo Cannabis. With nine locations in Manitoba and one in Alberta, says he does see an increase in sales, with customers specifically coming in asking about for 20 products and deals. The biggest challenge he sees is that Manitoba strict rules against public consumption means any kind of official 420 event is not really possible.

00;09;25;17 - 00;09;46;12

Gary Johnston

We do see a significant spike in 420 sales, but there were some things holding it back in terms of not being able to consume in public in Manitoba or for the lack of marketing solution, says sincere. 420 can be a simple story thing, but since we have so much red tape that would that restricts us as a retailer, there's not much we can do.

00;09;46;14 - 00;10;05;15

Gary Johnston

We can throw some sales on our products, but other than that, there's no way we could promote this. I often think of big and old festivals like Octoberfest in Germany and Canada. We have an opportunity to make 420 an economic opportunity for people, but we have all these restrictions and regulations that keep us from doing anything like that.

00;10;05;18 - 00;10;29;00

Gary Johnston

Kerri Mitchell, the president of Farmer Jane Cannabis with several locations in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, says their stores do see some extra traffic around mid to late April, although not necessarily on April 20th itself. Overall, I would say our stores definitely see a lift in sales during the 420 week. The day itself isn't always the biggest and it depends on a lot from what day of the week it falls on.

00;10;29;03 - 00;10;50;29

Gary Johnston

We've noticed that there are a lot of customers who don't realize what 420 is. And other retailers who don't celebrate the day. So we try and treat it as a day to show up differently. We make it fun and memorable for both our customers and our teams, and I think that's the good approach. Just try to make it more memorable for for 20.

00;10;51;02 - 00;11;16;12

Gary Johnston

We're going to strat Canva.com for our next story, and this was written by staff. A new pilot study in Canada looked at how medically supervised cannabis use in a residential recovery home could support people in treatment for substance use challenges. Participants in the study reported the cannabis helped them manage pain, anxiety, depression and sleep issues all symptoms that can complicate recovery.

00;11;16;14 - 00;11;50;26

Gary Johnston

Stigma surrounding cannabis remains a barrier, though the research resulted from a collaboration between UBC Okanagan and Thompson Rivers University in B.C. and Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario. Our findings suggest medical cannabis could play a meaningful role in reducing cravings and improving retention in recovery programs, says Zach Walsh, a psychology professor at UBC Okanagan and co-lead researcher. Participants clearly indicated benefits in managing both physical and psychological challenges during recovery.

00;11;51;03 - 00;12;24;00

Gary Johnston

Users also reported reduced cravings for opioids and other harmful substances, improved pain management, and enhanced mental health and sleep quality. Stigma surrounding cannabis use remains a significant barrier, though. According to the research staff, interviews revealed a need for increased education and better integration into the cannabis treatment approach. Reducing stigma through targeted education for program staff is critical, says doctor Florian Fur, Co lead researcher and nursing professor at Thompson Rivers University.

00;12;24;02 - 00;12;56;29

Gary Johnston

Staff skepticism often comes from misunderstandings about cannabis as a legitimate medical treatment, highlighting a clear opportunity for improvement in recovery support. The study, recently published in the Journal of Studies in Alcohol and Drugs, was conducted by UBC, Okanagan and Thompson Rivers University researchers. This collaboration between institutions in Helena and Kamloops sought to better understand patient and staff experiences with medically supervised cannabis use in a supportive recovery environment.

00;12;57;01 - 00;13;27;09

Gary Johnston

It examined patient and staff experiences at Maverick Supported Recovery, a residential recovery center in the B.C. Interior. Residential recovery centers provide structured living environments where people receive treatment and support to manage substance use disorders. While the results are promising, researchers emphasized the need for larger scale studies to fully assess the benefits and risks of incorporating medical cannabis into substance use recovery programs.

00;13;27;11 - 00;13;52;24

Gary Johnston

The study was funded by the Interior Universities Research Coalition and the BC Ministry of Health. Doctor fair will present the findings to the International Council of Nurses Congress in Helsinki this June. Tru is also planning the Medical Cannabis in Recovery Forum on Saturday, April 26th, before Room is open to the public health care professionals, researchers interested in cannabis and recovery solutions.

00;13;52;26 - 00;14;26;08

Gary Johnston

The forum will explore the evolving role of cannabis in harm reduction and addiction care. Doctor Florian Fer, an associate professor in the True School of Nursing and principal investigator on the Maverick Research Project, is leading the forum with guests like MJ Moloi, research scientist with BC Center on Substance Use. Ian Mitchell, emergency physician at Royal Inland, and Zak Walsh, psychology professor at UBC and director of the therapeutic, Recreational and Problematic Substance Use Lab, among others.

00;14;26;11 - 00;14;27;26

Gary Johnston

That's a great story from Australia.

00;14;44;27 - 00;14;48;01

Ian

Please explain this stuff to me.

00;14;48;03 - 00;15;03;05

Gary Johnston

Welcome to Cultivar Corner. Brought to you by Up in Smoke at 258 West Broadway in Vancouver and online at It's Up and smoke.com. If you are 19 years of age or older and you live in B.C., you are welcome to pick up some products and have it sent to you.

00;15;03;08 - 00;15;04;06

Ian

Delightful.

00;15;04;06 - 00;15;12;17

Gary Johnston

Matt is wonderful. He serves you well now here is something new that I have to try on cultivar corner.

00;15;12;19 - 00;15;13;05

Ian

Hash.

00;15;13;10 - 00;15;20;29

Gary Johnston

Rosin drops sativa. Okay, these are from rosin heads. They are.

00;15;21;02 - 00;15;22;08

Ian

Two.

00;15;22;10 - 00;15;29;16

Gary Johnston

No, they're 25. No, no, no, they're ten milligrams of THC in a container.

00;15;29;18 - 00;15;30;28

Ian

And I've got two.

00;15;30;28 - 00;15;31;24

Gary Johnston

25 of.

00;15;31;24 - 00;15;35;22

Ian

Them. Now.

00;15;35;24 - 00;15;58;14

Gary Johnston

What should I start with? Where should I go? And then we'll see how we go from that. So there's a cocoa butter and live rosin are all these are. And I'm hoping that the live rosin is going to make a difference. And it's going to make me feel like I'm I'm feeling something. So here's what we're going to do.

00;15;58;16 - 00;16;30;27

Gary Johnston

I think we haven't figured out how far we want to test the veracity of the rosin heads. Now, these are from rosin heads in hash we trust. I love their I love their name. That's great. It's strawberry og strawberry og is the flavor of the hash. Rosin drops. And you know what we can do with go for. We'll do four of them, and then we'll see what happens after we have tried four.

00;16;31;02 - 00;16;32;06

Gary Johnston

There's four.

00;16;32;08 - 00;16;33;19

Ian

Excellent.

00;16;33;21 - 00;16;48;27

Gary Johnston

And once we got those out, then we will take them into my, in the into my mama. My mouth. Okay. So let's do it. These go really quickly. I have to tell you already.

00;16;48;29 - 00;16;50;09

Ian

See.

00;16;50;11 - 00;17;18;20

Gary Johnston

Just like that one's gone. I haven't felt that one. Of course I didn't. I don't think I will feel it quite that way to that effectively. And here goes number two. It is really interesting. They're really tiny. They got ten milligrams of THC inside of this live Ryzen. And we're hoping that these just do a nice little hit for me.

00;17;18;22 - 00;17;23;19

Gary Johnston

So okay. Number three.

00;17;23;21 - 00;17;36;01

Gary Johnston

Interestingly enough, there's virtually no taste. I don't feel anything. Strawberry OG nothing along that line.

00;17;36;03 - 00;17;36;20

Ian

No.

00;17;36;20 - 00;17;48;00

Gary Johnston

No chance of that. And then we're going to go to the four and we'll see how that goes for me I'm.

00;17;48;02 - 00;17;49;17

Ian

Okay.

00;17;49;20 - 00;18;25;26

Gary Johnston

We have hit four. So now I'm going to set my watch on let's say we're going to probably go about 30 minutes. We will test things after about 30 minutes. And then we'll come back and we'll see whether the rosin heads, hash rosin drops, sativa, strawberry OG 25 tablets. My THC is a 20mg per tablet. And we're going to see what happens.

00;18;25;29 - 00;18;31;13

Gary Johnston

So we'll be back and I'll let you know if we're having it. If we are having any.

00;18;31;13 - 00;18;32;21

Ian

Impact.

00;18;32;24 - 00;18;53;06

Gary Johnston

And any success from our rosin heads. Live rosin heads, rive rosin headsets, heads, you know what I mean? All righty. We are coming up at the 28 minute mark, and and I don't know,

00;18;53;08 - 00;18;54;26

Ian

I feel like.

00;18;54;26 - 00;18;57;24

Gary Johnston

I might have a bit of a bit of.

00;18;57;24 - 00;18;59;04

Ian

A buzz.

00;18;59;06 - 00;19;09;14

Gary Johnston

I've had some, so obviously I haven't had any cannabis today. So the rosin heads, the ten milligrams of THC in four of those.

00;19;09;16 - 00;19;12;08

Ian

It. And I think I'm thinking I'm.

00;19;12;08 - 00;19;43;15

Gary Johnston

Feeling a bit of a buzz. What I'm going to do is I'm going to take two more of these and then we'll we'll really get that, get there. So I'm going to take those. And we'll get that I think. Yeah I mean it's really hard for me to find this stuff from the edibles, knowing that I don't have any of those typical triggers when I do, when I smoke and and when I feel out of that.

00;19;43;18 - 00;19;48;00

Ian

So.

00;19;48;03 - 00;20;02;05

Gary Johnston

We're now we've done two, two more of the rosin heads. So that's going to take us to six. And if it feels like it like it did does.

00;20;02;07 - 00;20;06;11

Ian

I'm thinking it's feeling it's feeling pretty good.

00;20;06;14 - 00;20;17;13

Gary Johnston

And then when we come back after we try those other two and then we'll see if that enhances it a little bit more. I'm I'm thinking I'm feeling something.

00;20;17;16 - 00;20;20;06

Ian

I love it now.

00;20;20;11 - 00;20;25;10

Gary Johnston

Now and now I can't be sure. Obviously I can't have.

The.

00;20;25;19 - 00;20;50;00

Gary Johnston

Specific point that I'm referencing that I don't know where the high is coming from and how I'm feeling it. But I got to tell you, I'm feeling a little bit up. I'm feeling a little bit, firm and ready for stuff. There. I'm at 30 minutes, so that's how long it's been since we sampled those. And I've started to feel those.

00;20;50;00 - 00;21;16;17

Gary Johnston

Probably about there about 20 minutes where I felt a a little bit of a buzz. Yeah. I'm, I'm feeling, more like an out of the feels. So now what I want to do is just let me sit on a little bit more of this with two more of those rosin heads added to it, and that'll hopefully it'll just.

Make.

00;21;17;02 - 00;21;31;17

Gary Johnston

It really nice. The live rosin. I'm pretty sure that is what's happening to make me feel this. So I am feeling these hunting, and I have to admit, I have to think that I'm now feeling some.

High.

00;21;32;16 - 00;21;33;29

Gary Johnston

Off of the rosin heads.

Oh.

00;21;35;21 - 00;22;07;05

Gary Johnston

I just love it. I don't know, I don't know whether I'm just faking it or trying it or or mixing it, but I think there's some I think there is some validity that I'm feeling some buzz. Oh, that feels really good. So let's sit on those legs. Two rosin hits another 20mg of THC. It's going to be a total of 60mg of THC in my system.

00;22;07;08 - 00;22;37;10

Gary Johnston

I'm thinking I'm going to enjoy this. I'll check in with you, and I can check back in. Oh, I don't know. Probably another ten minutes. Now, remember, that Cultivar Corner is brought to you by Up in Smoke at 258 West Broadway in Vancouver and online at It's Up in smoke.com and if you want to live the life you and you live in BC, you can have something shipped to you directly off of the menu, maybe is going to be the rosin head I don't know, could be, but they're going to be fun.

00;22;37;16 - 00;22;45;23

Gary Johnston

Thank you so much. Matt and Sarah at Up in Smoke. You were just so nice and it is so lovely to have you a part of my show.

Well, I.

00;22;47;05 - 00;23;13;03

Gary Johnston

Am about to say that I think this has been successful. I think I have gotten a buzz off of these sativa rosin heads from the hash rock hash rosin drops, sativa, strawberry fire. And I did another two of them. So I have done a total of six. With the live rosin. And I think I'm, I'm feeling just a bit of a burst.

00;23;13;10 - 00;23;23;13

Gary Johnston

Some of the sativa, the high that kind of comes through and, and and just all of the emotions that come along with that.

New I kind of feel like,

00;23;25;17 - 00;23;28;27

Gary Johnston

Like there's a bit of there's a bit of buzz.

I've got to say that I think I'm.

00;23;31;13 - 00;23;33;19

Gary Johnston

Feeling the buzz.

It's lovely. I.

00;23;35;13 - 00;23;59;20

Gary Johnston

Don't know if I if this is just me thinking about it or are we, if we really got here, I think we've got here. So what can I say? I can say that the hash rosin, drop sativa, I think it's working pretty well. So now I'm going to, do another day and we'll do a few of those.

00;23;59;20 - 00;24;12;19

And this is an interesting story from Strat Connect. Com Police in Winnipeg say they are targeting cannabis store customers as part of an ongoing impaired driving enforcement campaign. Between January and March of 2025, the Winnipeg Police Service Central Traffic Division launched an enforcement campaign that they say focused on drivers under the influence of cannabis and other illicit drugs.

00;24;47;11 - 00;25;17;11

During the campaign, officers conducted 302 traffic stops and administered 207 drug screening tests using a probe, screening equipment. Nearly half of those 97 drivers tested positive for recent cannabis consumption. This was similar to the rate of those tested in a similar campaign in 2020, for all drivers faced an immediate roadside suspension of their license. Only one driver was said to have been charged criminally for refusing to be tested.

Officers also issued the 86 Provincial Offense Act notices during this year's campaign, including 19 of the improper storage of cannabis within a vehicle and four for consuming cannabis inside a vehicle. Similar to alcohol. Cannabis in the vehicle must be stored out of reach of the driver and any passenger, unless it is in its original, unopened packaging. Winnipeg Police Patrol Sergeant Stefan Fontaine said during a press conference that he focused the campaign on areas around the more than 100 cannabis stores in Winnipeg.

00;25;53;15 - 00;26;14;18

There are over 130 or so dispensaries throughout the city. Would it be? So what I did was I made a plan to basically target those areas where there were dispensaries, and we watched the traffic coming in, going to and from those known shops. The officers still have to form the proper ground to make all of their lawful demands, but that's where they spend their time.

00;26;14;20 - 00;26;42;05

He also noted that many of those individuals were testing positive on their way to a cannabis store, although he did not indicate how officers knew their destination. Fontaine added that most drivers who tested positive for THC were found between 3 and 6 p.m., which he notes is different from enforcement and against those impaired by alcohol. Police in Winnipeg recommend not driving for 12 hours after consuming edible cannabis products.

00;26;42;08 - 00;27;15;07

Penalties for driving while impaired by cannabis can include criminal charges. Loss of one's driver's license, vehicle empowerment and fines. Police can use both oral testing equipment and assessment by drug recognition officers. In Canada, drivers with over two nanograms of THC but under five nanograms of THC per milliliter of blood can face a street. Summary conviction offense. Drivers found with over five milligrams of THC in their blood can face a drug alone hybrid offense.

00;27;15;09 - 00;27;48;02

Drivers found with over 2.5 nanograms of THC permanent liter of blood, combined with 50mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood, can face a hybrid offense. A penalty for the summary conviction offense is a fine of maximum $1,000. The penalties for two hybrid offenses are the same as alcohol impaired driving. These include mandatory minimum penalties of $1,000 fine for a first offense, 30 days imprisonment for a second offense, and 120 days imprisonment for a third offense.

00;27;48;04 - 00;28;02;09

Gary Johnston

I'm going to suggest that it's probably better if you avoid any of those times of being, impaired with THC. You probably want to avoid those charges.

And we pick up this story from the outset, aka written by Pat Bulmer. Police in Ontario seized and destroyed approximately 17,000 cannabis plants grown at three large scale illegal growth sites. Six people have been charged with operating a complex illicit cannabis production and distribution network. The RCMP said police estimated the operations could have had an annual production value of over $16 million.

00;28;30;29 - 00;29;01;05

Each site was stamped with full time living workers. The criminal network exported the cannabis to the United States and Hong Kong, with further plans to expand distribution into Europe. RCMP dismantled one of the grow ups, with the Ontario Provincial Police and Toronto Police Service taking care of the others. RCMP allege millions of dollars in profits from this operation were laundered through the Canadian banking system via a sophisticated identity fraud scheme.

00;29;01;07 - 00;29;26;06

Gary Johnston

The growers applied for Health Canada authorizations to produce medicinal cannabis, using the identity of individuals who were not aware of the applications. Those authorizations were then used to obtain commercial leases and expand production, and there were four people facing charges, and their first court appearance will be set for May 7th.
