00;00;36;13 - 00;01;04;20

Gary Johnston

Now, before we get too much further, let me remind you this podcast is intended for those illegal consumption age in your jurisdiction and is intended purely for entertainment and perhaps educational purposes. You should always consume your cannabis responsibly. We are now in episode 188, and today we're having a conversation with Joshua Pritikin. He's from Oregon, and he has been trying to satisfy his need for finding specific effects based on specific cannabinoids.

00;01;04;27 - 00;01;24;16

Gary Johnston

So you'll hear a conversation about that in today's episode, and we're going to follow that up with a story about concerns over Delta eight, which is one of the cannabinoids we will be discussing. There is a university professor in Nova Scotia who thinks the government is encouraging cannabis use. And there's also some benefits you need to know about cannabis, and we'll touch on that too.

00;01;24;19 - 00;01;45;28

Gary Johnston

Plus, on cultivar Corner, brought to you by Up in Smoke. We are heading to Woody Nelson and it's high fidelity. Delicious. Ten jello. 8.3% Terps. When you open that jar, you know, all of that and more on episode 188 of the Cannabis potcast.

00;01;46;01 - 00;02;02;22

Gary Johnston

As always, thank you so much for being here. I truly appreciate the fact that you are a listener. The Cannabis potcast, and I never want to forget the fact that there are some people who are helping me like Jordan, and buy me a coffee.com/cannabis potcast. If you like what you hear and you feel so inclined, you're welcome to go there too and buy me a doobie.

00;02;02;24 - 00;02;21;29

Gary Johnston

And I want to thank my patrons on Patreon. Tony, Rob, Gage, Lloyd, Roger, and Justin, thank you so much. I appreciate your support each and every time. And I also want to give a shout out to C Drake. Cedric is a new friend of my sons, Ian. My sons Ian XD I guess that's how I would say rivers in Latvia be Ian's.

00;02;22;02 - 00;02;42;05

Gary Johnston

I think that's I think that's how you it. He's a friend that Ian has come across. And apparently when Cedric listens to my podcast, it makes him want to smoke cannabis again. I'm sorry about that, Cedric. That is not much I can do for that. But I'm glad you're along for the ride. And I'm glad you're having some friendship with my son and helping him enjoy his time in Latvia.

00;02;42;09 - 00;03;10;03

Gary Johnston

And now let's get on with our first story. And this story from Strach Hancock. Written by staff. A marketing campaign by Nova Scotia's cannabis regulator is catching flak from a clinical psychologist for what he says is the promotion of cannabis use. The marketing campaign by Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation's Cannabis French, the NSCLC that seeks to draw a distinction between legal and illegal cannabis products based on product testing refers to legal cannabis as the safe choice.

00;03;10;05 - 00;03;42;07

Gary Johnston

Clinical psychologist Simon Sherry, a psychology professor at Dalhousie University, tells media in Nova Scotia that the campaign is in the wrong for what he says is promoting cannabis use and the idea that cannabis is a safe product, representing cannabis as a safe and a no risk product that simply is inaccurate, Sherry told CTV News Atlantic. It flies in the face of an extensive research literature that links cannabis up to depression, anxiety, psychosis, impaired concentration, impaired memory, respiratory problems and a host of other difficulties.

00;03;42;10 - 00;04;04;17

Gary Johnston

A representative for NSCLC tells CTV news that the goal of the campaign was to highlight the risks of using unregulated cannabis products, rather than encouraging people to use cannabis as the responsible retailer for beverage, alcohol and cannabis in the province. NSCLC has a duty to share messages to help consumers understand the risk in making cannabis purchases from the illicit market.

00;04;04;20 - 00;04;28;04

Gary Johnston

The goal of the awareness campaign is to help consumers understand the importance of safe, regulated cannabis by focusing on product quality and public safety. Several other provinces have recently launched similar campaigns aimed at informing cannabis consumers of the difference between legal and illegal cannabis products, including the lack of testing and quality assurance standards in the unregulated industry. And we've talked about the other provinces and what their moves are.

00;04;28;04 - 00;04;37;11

Gary Johnston

So now another objection to the campaign in Nova Scotia because they think it's encouraging cannabis use.

00;04;37;13 - 00;04;41;01

Ian

Mayor. Ha.

00;04;41;03 - 00;04;49;23

Gary Johnston

There is so much diversity of opinion on this subject, and I think I'm just going to leave it there.

00;04;49;25 - 00;04;54;07

Ian

For the cannabis infused studio in the clouds, this is the cannabis potcast.

00;04;54;09 - 00;04;57;29

Gary Johnston

You may remember when I was celebrating the sixth anniversary of the podcast.

00;04;59;08 - 00;05;25;05

Gary Johnston

I Reported again that I'd like to hear your cannabis stories. No, I'm just curious about how other people come to this plant and what they're doing with their experience. Well, I received one of those submissions just a couple of weeks ago. Joshua Pritikin sent me a note and asked to have a conversation, and Joshua feels that there's not enough attention about how different cannabinoids affect subjective experience.

00;05;25;08 - 00;05;37;25

Gary Johnston

So he is out on a quest to try to find his best subjective experience. And that's what we're going to have a conversation about. We pick the conversation up right after. I welcome Joshua to the Cannabis potcast.

00;05;38;01 - 00;06;18;28

Joshua Pritikin

Yeah I think thank you. I really appreciate this, platform. Like to, so, you know, when, when I first, started learning about cannabis, I basically learned about THC and CBD, and, that's about it. And, like, if you try to find more information out there about, other rare cannabinoids, like, you don't you don't find very much like, you know, why would you combine some other cannabinoid with THC or you know, what combinations are good or what you know, what kind of the what subjective effects might you expect to have if you, you know, put together some combination?

00;06;19;01 - 00;06;29;00

Gary Johnston

Let's back up just a second, Joshua. Sure. So question I usually ask when people come on to the cannabis potcast is what is your cannabis story? What brought you to cannabis?

00;06;29;02 - 00;06;54;19

Joshua Pritikin

Well, see, I was in Virginia and, I was just interested in, trying different psychedelics. I, I had been working in psychiatry for a while, and, I kept hearing about all these academic publications where they were studying, psychedelics for treating psychiatric disorders or psychological disorders and like, they're finding pretty, pretty good results.

00;06;54;19 - 00;07;17;23

Joshua Pritikin

And so I just got interested in exploring that personally. So I had an experience with psilocybin. And then when, this was when I was in Virginia, they, they made, CBD available. So I was, like, curious too, to try CBD. Tried it. And, you know, it felt like it did something, but. Yeah. Listen, very, you know, it wasn't very strong.

00;07;17;23 - 00;07;20;17

Joshua Pritikin

It was kind of like, very faint effect.

00;07;20;19 - 00;07;21;24

Ian

Yeah. Because the CBD.

00;07;21;24 - 00;07;29;15

Gary Johnston

Typically has no intoxicating aspects of it. So you're going to be feeding it in a different area of, of, of your response I guess.

00;07;29;17 - 00;07;59;14

Joshua Pritikin

Yeah. Yeah. Recently I found this website cannabinoids with Turkey and it's very interesting because he has experimented with lots of the rare cannabinoids and he's at least trying to do something. You know, like kind of map out the subjective effects of them. And, I'm not I don't really agree with all his opinions, but yeah, I, I kind of, I'm, I'm really like, he really inspired me to kind of go down this path.

00;07;59;17 - 00;08;19;13

Gary Johnston

And I took a look at the, at the links that you sent me and, and there was a lot of detail there that you provided on a couple of those pages. You're saying that there's not enough attention to the other cannabinoids during cannabis. Give me an example of a couple of those cannabinoids that you don't feel are getting enough attention, and why we should be paying more attention.

00;08;19;16 - 00;08;51;27

Joshua Pritikin

Yeah. So, well, okay, so everyone's heard of CBD, but, probably not that many people have heard of H for CBD, which is, a hydrogenated version that, you know, I, I'm not sure. I think it's like, obtainable through chemistry. Maybe the plant doesn't produce it, but, it's, it's much stronger than CBD. And, like, you, like, not not just in terms of, like, it, it doesn't feel like, you know, ten times CBD.

00;08;51;27 - 00;09;04;14

Joshua Pritikin

It's actually like a qualitatively a different experience. And so I would say it's like a very, delightful, exquisite kind of experience when paired with THC.

00;09;04;16 - 00;09;11;07

Gary Johnston

Okay. I'm not a big fan of things that need to be created.

00;09;12;05 - 00;09;35;11

Gary Johnston

When I went down this path and I was really looking for a cannabis, cannabinoids that are directly out of the plants, and and they may morph over time as they turn from their acidic, into their, their proper form, like to, to a THC, for example. So, so you're saying that h c for CBD is something that would be created in a lab?

00;09;35;13 - 00;10;03;02

Joshua Pritikin

Yeah. It's, hydrogenated hydrogenated CBD. So and I, I, I get where you're coming from, like, you'd like to. Yeah. You know, use, natural, naturally grown substances, and. Yeah. Yeah, I respect that, kind of, esthetic feeling, but, I don't know, I, I, I like to explore the kind of lab created cannabinoid sites as well.

00;10;03;05 - 00;10;03;24

Joshua Pritikin

So.

00;10;03;26 - 00;10;12;26

Gary Johnston

Yeah. No, absolutely. There's, there's certainly some, some interest in that because, because there's other things that it can do for us that we may not be aware of. Yeah. So give me some other examples.

00;10;12;28 - 00;10;51;11

Joshua Pritikin

Well CBN is I found it's it's there's a couple of studies published on using CBN kind of alone without thc for for sleep. And I have I found that to be personally helpful. And I also feel like yeah CBN when paired with one of the other there's like CBC CT's CBD and those yeah those like CBN paired with those plus THC that is also a very beautiful experience.

00;10;51;11 - 00;11;13;05

Gary Johnston

So yeah. And that's being brought forth in a lot of products in Canada right now. CBN is is heavily featured along with CBG along with some CBC and some THC. A lot of sleep aid in Canada stores these days are based on a CBN formula that they're starting with. Which of course is what a TD range too.

00;11;13;07 - 00;11;20;20

Gary Johnston

So that also makes sense okay. What else have you discovered there Joshua.

00;11;20;22 - 00;11;50;00

Joshua Pritikin

Well so yeah I mean those are the, the I mean, this is a cannabinoid cannabinoids. I've, I've I've experimented with and, so I've tried to like kind of map out their subjective effects and that's I have a page about that. So, yeah, to me, like one of the important things about these cannabinoids is kind of like where their effect is located in the body.

00;11;50;02 - 00;12;17;28

Joshua Pritikin

So like for me, like I would say CBN and Cbgb TV, those those are kind of like localized in, in, in my head. That's where the I feel the effects. And then and then the other ones. C cbd v CPT CBC in in the CBDs. Kind of would be more like in the, in the chest or abdomen kind of area.

00;12;18;00 - 00;12;46;07

Gary Johnston

Yeah, I see that. I'm looking at your, at your diagram on your site right now. The cannabinoid potentiate or map. Yeah. And I see what you mean. And of course there's a lot of CB1 receptors, in our brain and spinal cord. So and that's going to make a lot of sense. And so that's what you're referring to when you're talking about trying to find the path to what you're looking for, is going to be where you sense that the cannabinoids are affecting you, whether it's in your head or whether it's in your heart.

00;12;46;09 - 00;13;07;11

Joshua Pritikin

Yeah. And, you know, I don't know if this map is, is like, correct or, you know, would, apply to everyone. Like, when I read cannabis articles, they always say, like, you know, affects, you know, very may vary. Yeah. May vary based on individual variation where you are in your head when you're using. And.

00;13;07;11 - 00;13;22;21

Gary Johnston

Yeah, exactly. In your quest, what is your eventual goal? What are you seeking to find in relation to other cannabinoids and the effect that they will have on your body? What is your eventual goal?

00;13;22;23 - 00;13;49;15

Joshua Pritikin

Well, so, so at least, from, from my personal, personal use, like, I want to be able to if I have some planned, then I want to to be able to predict what that gland is going to feel like, you know, based on the constituents of it. So that's kind of what the map is for, is kind of to, to, to to kind of explain or, you know, predict what the subjective effects would be.

00;13;49;17 - 00;14;09;17

Joshua Pritikin

And then, you know, if there's some blends that I really feel are, are sensational, then, to, you know, share those with others and see, see if others also find out who, you know, agree with me that these blends are, are really, you know, marvelously beautiful.

00;14;09;19 - 00;14;22;29

Gary Johnston

And in your research, are you isolating it just down to the cannabinoids, or are you also including the other components, the terpenes, the esters, the thilo's and and what they impact they may have on the effect?

00;14;23;02 - 00;14;35;24

Joshua Pritikin

Yeah. I'm I'm just kind of starting up my journey. So I, I haven't looked into those like that would be, really I'd be really curious to explore in that direction. But I've only explored the cannabinoids so far.

00;14;35;27 - 00;14;41;16

Gary Johnston

Do you have a timeline of of what you're working towards, or are you just kind of taking it as it goes?

00;14;41;18 - 00;15;20;28

Joshua Pritikin

Well, the, the tolerance effects kind of, limit how fast I can explore and, the way I prefer to administer the cannabinoids is like, through, but orally, like eating, eating them. And as you know, you know, when you're administering orally than the. Yeah, you know, it's it's, you're in for, like, a 4 or 5 hour journey, so, like, you have to make sure to clear off your calendar and, and then the tolerance effect is tends to be, you know, looks like, around four days or five days.

00;15;20;28 - 00;15;23;10

Joshua Pritikin

So that's kind of limits my speed.

00;15;23;13 - 00;15;32;03

Gary Johnston

Well, thanks for sharing the story with me. Anything that you would like the audience of the of the podcast to to know about what you're doing and to why you're doing it.

00;15;32;05 - 00;16;01;17

Joshua Pritikin

One more thing I haven't spoken about is. Yeah, the, like which, which THC I'm using and to compliment these, the other cannabinoids and, yeah, I've been, I've been using delta e, which I feel like is the most similar THC to delta nine, the traditional one. And then there's, you can find lots of, people online talking about, HHC, and,

00;16;01;19 - 00;16;18;28

Gary Johnston

I've been reading about that as well. So I'm curious about one thing, Joshua. You talk about delta eight. So delta eight in its in its natural forms and such low quantities in cannabis, where are you obtaining the Delta eight to, to obtain what you're trying to do?

00;16;19;01 - 00;16;40;12

Joshua Pritikin

Well, there's a, a couple of mail order vendors online. And so, yeah. So I, I've been ordering through these, vendors. It so, yeah. Isolates or distillates of, of single cannabinoids so I can, you know, mix them precisely. And, I know, I know what I'm using.

00;16;40;14 - 00;16;43;09

Gary Johnston

Interesting. Yeah, that's an interesting approach to cannabis.

00;16;43;15 - 00;16;54;09

Joshua Pritikin

Yeah. There is, the way I found out about this is through Hamilton Morris. Yeah, he, through his podcast, he's, like, has a sponsorship with one of these companies.

00;16;54;09 - 00;17;13;26

Gary Johnston

So I should have realized that you could buy some very specific cannabinoids up there if you wanted to. And again, I'm, I'm just a little leery of of the things that are being developed out there that are, that are not in, in large quantities. And then I question about about the validity of those. But interesting, interesting approach you're taking.

00;17;13;26 - 00;17;16;20

Gary Johnston

So it's been a good journey for you so far.

00;17;16;23 - 00;17;55;07

Joshua Pritikin

Yeah. I mean and, and I do want to, kind of, like you expressed some caution. I wanted to agree with you that, you know, you do definitely want to make sure that the, the parts you're getting are pure, because now, I've heard reports that some vendors are are sloppy with their lab work. And, you know, that there should there should be, you know, the substances should be tested in independent labs for purity and to make sure there aren't any, you know, pesticides or other things you don't want in there.

00;17;55;10 - 00;18;08;23

Gary Johnston

No, of course not. And that's that's one of the reasons why I am existing in the legal Canadian cannabis market, where we don't need to worry about those things when we're buying from from our, our typical sources.

00;18;08;23 - 00;18;10;00

Joshua Pritikin

Yeah.

00;18;10;02 - 00;18;13;09

Gary Johnston

All right. Excellent. Any final words?

00;18;13;11 - 00;18;23;01

Joshua Pritikin

No. I, I appreciate, hearing my story, and and I was great to talk to you.

00;18;23;03 - 00;18;48;04

Gary Johnston

And as you just heard in the conversation that we had in this episode with Joshua Pritikin, he is using Delta eight supplied to him from some labs down the state. And as I expressed in that conversation, I do have some concern with that. In fact, this is a story from 420 until.com. Unregulated delta eight remains a concern amid marijuana legalization talk, as teens and toddlers gain access to it.

00;18;48;06 - 00;19;09;08

Gary Johnston

As the debate over recreational marijuana continues. A related issue medical and legal experts say poses a threat to children is a growing concern. Delta eight edibles look like the kind of sugary, fruit flavored gummy candy toddlers devour by the handful, but pediatricians say these products, packaged almost identically to candy, snack foods and chocolates, are anything but child's play.

00;19;09;14 - 00;19;38;24

Gary Johnston

They contain delta THC, a psychoactive chemical derivative of the hemp plant that packs a high, just like delta nine, the THC compound in marijuana. Delta eight products are sold in vape and smoke shops and even some convenience stores, and authorities say they're often getting into the hands of toddlers and teens. Now, the US Food and Drug Administration first issued a cautionary report on the effects of Delta 8 in 2022, citing nearly 2400 reported cases of adverse effects at poison centers across the country.

00;19;38;27 - 00;20;05;28

Gary Johnston

One case was classified as resulting in the death of a child. A four year old Virginia boy died in May of 2022 after reportedly ingesting up to 15 Delta eight gummies, according to prosecutors. His mother was sentenced to 20 years in prison, with ten years suspended on charges of involuntary manslaughter and child abuse and neglect. Now a Delta eight Delta eight burst into the marketplace shortly after the federal government legalized the production of industrial hemp in 2018.

00;20;06;00 - 00;20;32;08

Gary Johnston

It was common knowledge that hemp contained small amounts of THC or tetrahydrocannabinol. THC is the chemical that acts on the brain and affects mood, behavior, and thoughts. Federal law specified that anything with a concentration of 0.3% or less, like CBD oil, was legal, but a gray area was born when chemist began cooking that legal CBD oil to synthesize it into Delta eight, in unregulated vape cartridges and candy like edibles.

00;20;32;12 - 00;20;54;25

Gary Johnston

And as a sidebar, I think that's where my concern begins. And of sidebar, two issues in particular have developed surrounding delayed. The unregulated nature of the market leaves consumers unsure exactly what is in the product and packaging that resembles candy products. Make Delta eight product attracted to youngsters. Delta eight products have been banned by law in at least 17 states and severely restricted in seven others.

00;20;54;28 - 00;21;18;01

Gary Johnston

In Pennsylvania is designated as a schedule one controlled substance, but it is still sold in the shadow of county courthouses, police stations, and even the Capitol. Some county prosecutors have pursued those selling Delta eight products. Westmoreland County District Attorney Nicole Z. Carelli is among those who have vowed to crack down. She said the danger Delta eight products posed to children and teens is too serious to ignore.

00;21;18;04 - 00;21;48;11

Gary Johnston

Vape shop owners who carry Delta products and spoke to Triblive said they limit sales exclusively to adults. They described the product, commonly referred to as marijuana's little brother, as a mild relaxes, not unlike an alcoholic drink. However, police in Westmoreland County started investigating some vape shop after complaints about the shop selling controlled substances to minors. Samir Sarna is an attorney with Pittsburgh firm Warrigal, Sarna and this, the law firm, is among Normal's contact list for marijuana lawyers in Allegheny County.

00;21;48;14 - 00;22;08;11

Gary Johnston

We see cases filed in Pennsylvania where stores are selling Delta eight products that are legal, according to the federal government, and they're being charged in state courts, Sarma said. I haven't seen the federal government charging anyone from these stores. It's been the state dealt H popularity among teen to set off alarms among public health advocates, law enforcement agencies and legislators.

00;22;08;13 - 00;22;30;16

Gary Johnston

A National Institute of Health study released in the spring found that 11% of high school seniors nationwide reported using Delta eight in the past year, while I'm going to, there's a bunch more to this story, but I think you've got the gist of what I'm trying to get across. There are some concerns about Delta eight. It is not occurring naturally in our cannabis in any great quantities.

00;22;30;18 - 00;22;37;09

Gary Johnston

So I'm curious as to why so many people are using it. I think we need to exercise some caution.

00;22;37;15 - 00;22;48;19

Gary Johnston

Oh, the nose is oh, just beautiful.

00;24;03;16 - 00;24;13;29

Gary Johnston

When you open that up. Oh, I can see that. Terps of 0.8%. Definitely some tangerine. There's some citrus in there.

00;24;14;01 - 00;24;17;13

Gary Johnston

Oh, and a sweet golden color.

00;24;17;15 - 00;24;49;04

Gary Johnston

That's just a beautiful color on that. I'm going to take a little bit of that and I'm going to get it into my puff code proxy so that we can have a taste of this. And well that's heating up. And look at that. And that note my puff goes up to temperature.

Oh.

00;25;31;25 - 00;25;35;21

Gary Johnston

Isn't that a delightful flavor profile?

00;25;36;29 - 00;25;43;08

Gary Johnston

Very smooth and sweet going in.

00;25;43;11 - 00;26;01;14

Gary Johnston

Oh definitely some of that fruity sweetness. And a little complexity as well. Really really impressed with the color of that. That is really just pristine and pure rosin we've got there.

00;26;01;17 - 00;26;07;28

Gary Johnston

I can just imagine watching the pressure and squish out the bottom on that parchment.

Oh.

00;26;12;04 - 00;26;24;14

Gary Johnston

When you have 8.3% beans then you know there's going to be some flavor component. Now, when I first pulled this out of the fridge.

00;26;24;16 - 00;26;48;22

Gary Johnston

I was trying to see if it had much of a nose, but of course it doesn't. It has to be get to room temperature before you're going to pick up some of that nose. I know, Matt and Sarah and folks it up in smoke are big on dabbing. They love it. They've been looking and talking about this tan gel for a while and decided it was time to give it a try, and you can pick it up as well.

00;26;48;22 - 00;27;01;15

Gary Johnston

If you are 19 years of age or older in B.C. and you live in B.C., you can go to it up and smoke. You can find this right on their menu, and you can have it sent to you. Now that the Canada postal strike is over.

Oh my.

00;27;04;08 - 00;27;32;14

Gary Johnston

I think I have had like four hits. I still got some in there. I'm going to pump my temperature up to green, so I'm going to take it up to the next level of temperature and try to burn a little bit of that off and oh my, isn't this feeling good? This is a hybrid live rise, bright citrus, fruity sweetness and dank, complex flavors.

Oh.

00;27;33;05 - 00;27;46;22

Gary Johnston

I'm loving this fruity tastes so much. So again, there's some citrus components in there and there's almost a bit of a berry at the back of my throat.

00;27;46;24 - 00;28;08;11

Gary Johnston

Oh, but definitely lots of nice citrus tones in that tender yellow. And that is the lineage. When I look at the lineage, the it is tan, gentle. Again, my who am I going to see? That came as a result of me just suddenly realizing that my happy eyes are here, and they came on.

I came.

00;28;09;20 - 00;28;12;02

Gary Johnston

In fairly fast. Order.

Holy.

00;28;16;01 - 00;28;34;10

Gary Johnston

I always forget when I was smoking my weed most of the time. And then I come and I do a nice little dab. I. I'm reminded of why people do dabs fairly consistently.

00;28;34;12 - 00;28;42;21

Gary Johnston

And I guess for me, it's one of the reasons why I don't do it every day is that I am trying to keep something in my arsenal.

That.

00;28;43;00 - 00;29;07;09

Gary Johnston

Can be a treat when I'm coming into a specific weekend or, or heading into some fun times, and I want to add that treats away. I like something that could hit me a little bit harder and oh my. I am loving this. No question. Euphoria heavy on the euphoria. This is just blowing my brain right now.

Oh. That's.

00;29;11;05 - 00;29;36;23

Gary Johnston

Really, really nice. And I guess the other thing that I notice is when I'm smoking weed takes me a little longer to get to this stage. And now here I am, what, five, five, six minutes into this health of our quarter and my brain is just a salon here, folks, and I'm not sure whether you know what the.

Heck.

00;29;38;17 - 00;29;42;09

Gary Johnston

You're about to hear me say. I don't know if I need to do any more.

But.

00;29;43;11 - 00;29;45;04

Gary Johnston

Let's remember who's discussing.

This.

00;29;47;15 - 00;29;59;13

Gary Johnston

I'm going to throw in a little bit more just because I love the taste of that. And I can pop in just another little rice sized piece into my puff or proxy.

00;29;59;22 - 00;30;16;13

Gary Johnston

Running it at the green temperature. And I do have a sheet that does remind me of what those temperatures are. And in the green I'm sitting at 520 Fahrenheit is what my tan jello is going to blow out. And we're going for taste number two. My my.

00;30;16;13 - 00;30;18;00

Ian

My.

00;30;18;03 - 00;30;35;27

Gary Johnston

I just love the looks of that in the jar and the nose that's coming off of that. It is such a beautiful aroma. OMG and here we go. We're ready for round two.

00;30;35;29 - 00;30;47;28

Gary Johnston

Oh yeah. And then when I bring that in and I literally swallow it to get those taste, there's that light nice bright citrus.

00;30;48;00 - 00;31;02;09

Gary Johnston

Some of that fruity sweetness, almost like a berry, but not quite on the berry side, but holy moly, this.

00;31;02;12 - 00;31;08;23

Gary Johnston

Have my CB1 receptors been impacted by this? You're darn right.

They have all.

Oh, so smooth, so tasty and so effective.

00;31;20;20 - 00;31;31;18

Gary Johnston

Okay, I get it Matt. I get why dabs are so popular.

Wow.

00;31;33;26 - 00;31;51;14

Gary Johnston

Well, this was a good way to finish off the year, wasn't it? We put that into our puff go proxy to finish off, this is actually going to drop. I think this show is dropping on the 29th of December. Just a couple more days left in the year. It's been a blast. We've been having lots of fun.

00;31;51;21 - 00;32;10;03

Gary Johnston

It's really nice to have the folks it up and smoke on board. As sponsors of cultivar Corner. Remember, if you are 19 years of age or older and you live in BC, you can go to their online menu at it's up in smoke.com and you can order some of this too. Now that the postal strike is over, it can actually reach you.

00;32;10;06 - 00;32;20;14

Gary Johnston

And unfortunately again, if you're in another province or another country, we're just teasing you with it. But I hope you don't mind the tease. Let me give heat one more time.

Ho!

00;32;23;00 - 00;32;33;03

Gary Johnston

Now, this is a hybrid, so I'm not knowing where the original strain is going to lead me down. And right now I'm really heavy on the high on the head.

I.

Oh.

00;32;40;08 - 00;32;56;17

Gary Johnston

Really? Heavy on the head. High. That is. That is just so tasty, so clean, so pure. Looks gorgeous in the jar. Tastes even better when you put it into your jam rig.

00;32;56;19 - 00;33;00;05

Gary Johnston

And I am going to have one fantastic day.

And.

00;33;02;12 - 00;33;22;01

Gary Johnston

This is high fidelity Gold Line live rosin tan jello at 67.4% THC and 8.3% Terps, and my CB1 receptors are just full of THC at the moment. And that was my intent.

Gary Johnston

Interesting article from Medical Marijuana association.com. Five ways that medical marijuana can assist you and benefits. You should probably know about.

00;36;46;22 - 00;37;07;22

Gary Johnston

And as I've said a couple of times, I'm not sure why. Suddenly, my brain is picking up on some things that that have some humorous anecdotes that happened a number of years ago. I don't know, maybe it was when I turned 69 this year that suddenly my brain fired off all my synapses from when I was 17, because that's when most of these seem to be right now.

00;37;07;25 - 00;37;38;01

Gary Johnston

And as I've already said, I'm not purporting that anybody should be doing this well in school. Clearly you shouldn't be. This was 57 years ago, and it is just the reality of what was happening. I can't remember whether I've ever told you about the hash stump. So at the high school that I went to in the interior of British Columbia, there was a cut down tree that where the stump was sat at almost waist height, just perfect.

00;37;38;04 - 00;38;02;04

Gary Johnston

It was a perfect table height to pull out your hash and cut up little chunks off of it, or to pull out your weed and set it on top of the hash dump and and roll some joints. It was really, really convenient. So that is often the place when we were at lunch hour at school. Again, I'm not suggesting that you should do this, but when we were out at the hash stump.

We.

00;38;02;15 - 00;38;20;10

Gary Johnston

Usually smoked a lot of weed during that lunch hour, and at times you were wearing your band coat. Like, for example, if you're out there in the winter time and it was pretty cold, and so you'd be wearing the coat and the smoke would be all around you. And that had a price to pay. So we had been out at the hash stump.

00;38;20;10 - 00;38;43;29

Gary Johnston

There's one particular lunch hour, consuming probably some hash, probably weed. And who knows what else. And it was time to now head into the school, and and in this case, I was again, just like another story that I told. It was related to having that class in a portable, so not connected to the school itself, but a portable that had only one single entrance into it, and then some windows, of course.

00;38;44;01 - 00;39;13;29

Gary Johnston

Now also, to fully understand the story, I think I was 17 years old and I had this teacher who I was absolutely infatuated with as many 17 year old boys can get with certain teachers in their lives. And she was mine. And I'll call her Mary just because I don't want a username. And so Mary was I was absolutely infatuated with her, and I wanted her to to like me.

00;39;14;01 - 00;39;45;28

Gary Johnston

This didn't go that well in that regard. So, it was a lunch hour out at the Hash Dome. New classes starting up or coming back in. Everybody's in the class, and I'm probably about midway through. So I had to come into the class, and I had to go through a lot of people and sit in about the middle of the class, and we begin and Mary is up at the front of the class and she says, Paul, who happens to be sitting by one of the windows on the side of the classroom, would you mind opening up one of those windows beside you before we all get stoned?

00;39;46;00 - 00;39;47;00

Gary Johnston

Right, Mr..

Johnston? The gig was up.

00;39;52;07 - 00;40;15;15

Gary Johnston

It was clear she she knew who at least was one of the persons responsible for the odor of cannabis in the room. I lost my chance. Not that there ever was a chance. But you know how it is. So again, I don't know why these are suddenly coming back to me, but I thought it was worth sharing. And that is probably the end of another episode.

00;40;15;17 - 00;40;28;02

Gary Johnston

Again, if you ever have a comment on anything you hear, please send a note to info at Cannabis potcast.com from the Guy in the clouds. That's it for episode 188 of the Cannabis potcast.
